MailMateJ

Privacy policy

Effective October 26, 2026

In short

MailMateJ is a mail app that runs on your Mac. Your mail stays on your Mac and on your mail providers' servers. MailMateJ has no servers of its own, collects nothing about you, and shares nothing with anyone.

What MailMateJ accesses

When you add a Gmail account, you sign in with Google and allow MailMateJ access to your Gmail (the https://mail.google.com/ scope). With it, MailMateJ reads your messages, labels and settings, and changes them only when you act: marking, flagging, moving, labeling, archiving or deleting messages, and sending and saving the mail you write.

For other accounts, MailMateJ uses the server address, user name and password or token you enter.

Where your data is kept

What MailMateJ doesn't do

Google user data

MailMateJ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to provide the app's features to you, on your Mac, and is never read by people.

Removing your data

Removing an account in MailMateJ deletes its stored mail and sign-in from your Mac. Deleting the app's folder removes everything. To withdraw MailMateJ's access to your Google account at any time, remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
